Roger Priaulx qualified as a solicitor in 1998 whilst working at Linklaters in London. He was seconded to Linklaters, Hong Kong, from 2001 to 2003 and was appointed managing associate in 2002. Roger worked with a number of blue chip financial clients on both contentious and non-contentious matters, including transactional and corporate governance work, in both London and Hong Kong. In 2003, he joined Walkers in the Cayman Islands and was admitted as an attorney of the Cayman Islands. Whilst at Walkers, Roger advised on fiduciary matters, including both fund and trust structures, and represented clients before the Grand Court of the Cayman Islands.
In 2005, Roger joined Close Brothers (Cayman) Limited, a subsidiary of Close Brothers Group plc, as in house counsel and he was appointed a director in 2007. In addition to his responsibilities to Close Brothers (Cayman) Limited, he also acted as a director on Cayman domiciled funds and as a director on private trust companies. He joined Genesis Trust & Corporate Services Ltd. (“Genesis Trust”) in May 2010 as a director and is responsible for the management and administration of the director and trustee services provided by Genesis Trust.
Roger has extensive experience in the provision of independent directorship services to a diverse portfolio of institutional clients, whose structures include alternative investment funds, private equity funds, affiliated investment manager entities and special purpose vehicles. The investment strategies of these structures range from equity and equity related securities, fixed income, commodities, derivatives and financing vehicles as well as aircraft and ship leasing.
He was elected to the Cayman Islands STEP Council in June 2010 and appointed Vice Chairman in 2015.
